Mr. Covert will set financial strategy and oversee the company’s global finance organization, with responsibility for all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, planning, forecasting, controls, and financial reporting. Serving as strategic and analytical business advisor to the CEO and the executive leadership team, he will also lead the development and execution of Carbice’s capital raising strategy as well as relationship-building with contract manufacturers and channels to further support the company’s global footprint.

Prior to joining Carbice, Mr. Covert was CFO at Imagine Communications Inc., where he led the finance, planning, IT, HR, and legal teams and shepherded an operating plan focused on double digit revenue growth driven by new products and expanding EBITDA in line with external benchmarks.
He has held numerous financial leadership positions during a highly successful career, serving as CFO of public and private companies that include Silicon Graphics, Inc., Adobe Systems, Inc., Harmonic, Inc., Lumos Networks, Inc., Silicon Image, Inc., Openwave Systems, Inc., Extreme Networks, Inc., and ISC Systems, Inc. Among Mr. Covert’s key achievements as CFO are numerous successful executions of significant corporate transitions; leadership in the process of increasing market valuation through the substantial expansion of operating profit and key strategic acquisitions; and the modernization of information technology and business process systems.
A United States Army veteran, Mr. Covert holds a B.S. in accounting from Lake Erie College and an M.B.A from Cleveland State University. A certified public accountant (CPA), he also serves on the board of directors for Lumentum Holdings, Inc., including as chairperson of the audit committee.
