Georgia Tech already has experience with creating startups spun off from university research. Softwear Automation, an AI robotics manufacturing startup for sewn goods, and Carbice, a startup that uses nanotechnology to prevent electronics from overheating, are recent examples. Both companies raised around $15 million in investments each this past year.
